More Challenging Outdoor Adventure

Enjoy mountain biking, rock-climbing, canoeing, kayaking, extended hikes and lots of camping. These are just a few of the adventures you'll tackle as a Venturer.

You'll enjoy your outdoor adventures as part of a team, working together with other young people to accomplish thrilling challenges.

Becoming a Venturer

Venturers go places, do things together, learn about their community and help other people. Action, Adventure and fun are emphasized. Venturers learn by ‘doing’ - a fundamental part of the Venturer program covering 6 major areas:

• Personal Fitness
• Personal interest
• Service
• Social/cultural/spiritual and
• Vocational

Scout Leaders and Venturers form a team. The Leader is a coach giving assistance when asked and guiding when required. We know we are successful when Venturers acquire skills and assistance from the Scout Leader becomes less frequent. Leadership training is the next step. 3rd year Venturers moving into Rover sections will be ready to help the leadership team at the Beaver and Cub Level.

What do you want to do? Maybe you'd like to be a police officer, firefighter, or paramedic. In Venturers, you can "try on" different exciting career options to see what's right for you.

Scouting is a family-based organization. Activities we offer, plus the value and skills we provide, are aimed at supporting your efforts to teach your child what is needed to become a well-rounded person. Your personal involvement is important to help reinforce the lessons your Venturer learns.

After learning a bit about Venturers, your Venturer will become ready to become "invested", or formally welcomed into the Company. You will be invited to attend the "Investiture Ceremony" to help welcome your Venturer into the Venturer Company.
